This fall has started out with a major backend update, updating our PHP version of the code, so it’s ready for the future and future updates. Additionally, we’ve sped up some of the queries that do impact the performance in general. My hope is that it helps stability as well as speed.
We’ve also added a new standard that has been on my list to knock out which are the XML standards for Tobacco, Pipes, and Tobacco Reviews. You can check the standards out here. Next we’ll be adding a couple fields we’re missing on each of these in our own data structure and adding the ability to import and export individual items to these fields and review bulk exports as well – currently you can already bulk export your tobacco cellar and your pipe list from the account page.
The forums, which have been woefully poor to begin with, have some outdated code in them that we don’t plan on updating. Instead, we’re going to work on some new functionality in the for sale/trade section and improve the communication options. Additionally, we’re looking to tie in the wish list and the cellar/open tobacco to Turbotin to help search for blends you have and want more of, and/or would like to get from your wishlist.
Stay tuned over the next months for more updates.
